YS: I did.<\/p>\n
BG: Stop! We already discussed this.<\/p>\n
YS: No we didn\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t.<\/p>\n
BG: Stop! You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re being mean.<\/p>\n
YS: No, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not. You said \u00e2\u20ac\u0153discussed,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d which is past tense. We haven\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t finished discussing it so you\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re wrong.<\/p>\n
BG: Stop! (stomps foot) That\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s mean.<\/p>\n
YS: (laughing) Okay, okay. Can I have the net now?<\/p>\n
BG: I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m not done yet.<\/p>\n
YS: It\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been five more minutes.<\/p>\n
BG: I don\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t think so.<\/p>\n
YS: I think so.<\/p>\n
BG: I think it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s been two minutes. Maybe I should ask Mom for help catching a fish.<\/p>\n
YS: She won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t know.<\/p>\n
BG: Well, I have to catch a fish before I can give you the net.<\/p>\n
YS: Why?<\/p>\n
BG: Because I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t leave until I find a pet.<\/p>\n
YS: You\u00e2\u20ac\u2122re fishing for a pet? I was going to try field dressing it. (Field dressing is his new favorite term, so it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s a safe bet that he worked it into the conversation somewhere.)<\/p>\n
OS: Pretty sure if you field dress it, it won\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t make a good pet anymore. I thought we were releasing all of our catches.<\/p>\n
YS: (looks over at me) Wait. Is Mom actually sleeping? (laughs hysterically)<\/p>\n
BG: I think so. Her eyes definitely look shut. I can\u00e2\u20ac\u2122t believe she\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s going to miss me catching my next pet.<\/p>\n
OS: Hard to miss something that\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s not happening.<\/p>\n

While sorting through the pictures afterward, I began thinking about how it\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s possible that my perspective on the evening may have contrasted with my kids\u00e2\u20ac\u2122 perspectives.
