{"id":2363,"date":"2013-04-25T22:03:39","date_gmt":"2013-04-26T02:03:39","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.anislandmom.com\/?p=2363"},"modified":"2013-04-25T22:03:39","modified_gmt":"2013-04-26T02:03:39","slug":"girlfriends-moves","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.anislandmom.com\/?p=2363","title":{"rendered":"Girlfriend&#8217;s Got the Moves"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>When we first moved to the beach, I awoke one morning to see a young tourist couple out on their nearby deck landing, doing yoga.<\/p>\n<p>At the time, I remember being in awe of their lack of inhibitions, how unmoved they seemed by the thought of all the people sitting in their homes or on their decks drinking coffee and watching \u00e2\u20ac\u0153the tourists who\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d clearly gone plumb fool crazy.\u00e2\u20ac\u009d This may have also been colored by my complete inability to even say the words \u00e2\u20ac\u0153downward facing dog\u00e2\u20ac\u009d or \u00e2\u20ac\u0153cow face pose,\u00e2\u20ac\u009d for instance, without breaking into hysterics. I can only imagine that if I ever attempted yoga on the beach, unless it was with a large group perhaps, I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d be so convulsed with laughter I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122d look much more like a heart attack victim than a yogi, a yogist, or a yogini.<\/p>\n<p>See, just writing those names had me laughing for five minutes just now. As I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122ve mentioned, <a title=\"Baby-Girl Tough\" href=\"http:\/\/www.anislandmom.com\/?p=1316\" target=\"_blank\">I\u00e2\u20ac\u2122m just not that mature.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I do get a special kind of thrill when I see children, particularly my own, out on the beach, acting without inhibitions. On an especially good day, I might have a camera in hand to document their exploits.
